Business Network Consortium
What it is
An innovative 12 month development programme, involving 3-5 ‘high potential’ executives from 4-5 companies. The Consortium’s aims are to bring together strategic capability from a number of diverse industries to provide a platform for learning and debate and to solve mutual challenges across the consortium members.
What it does
The Consortium is aimed at senior executives with significant organisation-wide functional responsibilities. Their current role means that they have a strategic impact on the business, and are expected to be the next generation of Board-level leaders.
The Consortium has two key objectives:
- To prepare participants for roles on the top management team of their corporations
- To make a lasting impact on the performance and competitive advantage of each company
Elements of the development process approach would include:
- Facilitated sessions for participants to bring an issue to the table and work together on resolution
- Master-classes – with guest speakers on topics agreed by the companies/participants
- Cross company mentoring
- A shared research project
Why it is unique
Most senior talent are long-term employees. Whilst this depth of experience is in many ways a strength, it also means that they are likely to lack the broader perspectives on business that experience in multiple companies or industries proffers. The Consortium encourages rigorous and constructive debate in a confidential setting; and an opportunity to get key talent focused on the participating organisations strategic opportunities and challenge.
