Succeeding at the next level
Jill was a senior leader with 14 years of experience in the Petrochemical industry working at International Leadership level in the Far East and Asia. She had been identified as a high flyer and was a member of the corporate High Performer programme.
Both she and the organisation agreed that she had reached a plateau which training alone was not sufficient to resolve and therefore they engaged me to Coach her into her next role, performing at the expected level.
The organisation was going through a restructure and it became apparent that Jill was questioning the relevance of her experience as a generalist in the new organisational structure and its demands. This translated into a loss in confidence as well as direction.
Our initial focus in the coaching assignment was her apparent and perceived lack of confidence. Having dealt with this, we were able to move onto career goals and values and match those to the drivers and goals of the organisation. Jill was able to reassess her talents and skills, look at the opportunities the organisation had available and make appropriate applications. We worked on stakeholder management strategies to position her appropriately and developed her leadership network.
The outcome of the coaching programme was that Jill secured a new opportunity where both she and the organisation were able to move forward. She had built a good network of stakeholders within the company and they both recognised the talents and renewed energy with which she attacked her new role within the organisation.
